Too little platform capacity
A small team owns clusters, deployments, incidents and the product roadmap at the same time.
Managed Cloud for SMBs in DACH
I take over operations, updates and security of your platform - so your team can develop software instead of managing infrastructure.
Trusted by teams building and operating digital products
Does this sound familiar?
The platform is business-critical, but daily operations keep competing with product work.
A small team owns clusters, deployments, incidents and the product roadmap at the same time.
Infrastructure and add-on upgrades are postponed because their impact is difficult to predict.
Monitoring produces noise while the issues that matter are discovered by users first.
Inconsistent pipelines and environments make releases slower and harder to reproduce.
Application, cloud and cluster responsibilities fall between internal teams and providers.
Security, networking, backups and cost control become harder with every new workload.
Managed Cloud turns platform work into a reliable operating model, without taking control away from your team.

Your technical partner
I am Niels Heidbrink, founder of dthn. I help IT and SaaS teams design and operate cloud infrastructure that remains understandable under real production pressure.
With more than eight years of experience across on-premise environments, hyperscalers and European cloud providers, I combine cloud operations, software engineering, networking, security and automation. You work directly with the person responsible for the technical outcome.

The result
We create the operational foundation your team needs to move quickly without trading away reliability.
Clear routines for maintenance, incidents and day-to-day cluster health.
Repeatable deployments and infrastructure changes reduce avoidable production risk.
Access, updates, workloads and platform configuration are handled systematically.
Signals and alerts are designed around action instead of dashboard noise.
Capacity and architecture decisions remain visible and connected to actual demand.
Your engineers spend less time maintaining the platform and more time improving the product.
How we work
A pragmatic three-step engagement, adapted to your existing stack and internal capabilities.
Step 1
We map workloads, architecture, risks, responsibilities and business priorities before changing the platform.
Assessment and operating plan
Step 2
We address the highest-impact gaps and standardize infrastructure, delivery, security and observability.
Prioritized implementation
Step 3
We take on the agreed platform responsibilities and continuously improve reliability, efficiency and clarity.
Ongoing managed service
Who it is for
The service fits organizations with production workloads and limited time for platform operations.
01
You need a stable platform for a growing product, but hiring a complete platform team is not the priority.
02
Your team owns business-critical infrastructure and needs experienced operational capacity alongside it.
03
You deliver customer applications and want a dependable partner for the underlying cloud platform.
If platform maintenance is consuming the capacity meant for customers and products, we should talk.
Customer stories
Hired Niels to build my sports court booking SaaS from scratch - Flutter mobile apps (Android/iOS) and Go backend. He handled EVERY engineering aspect solo: beautiful cross-platform apps with real-time features, payments, and a fast, scalable Go API + admin panel. Niels excelled at efficiency - automated CI/CD, smart caching, and cost-optimized architecture that saved me significant money long-term. Communication was proactive, clear.

FAQ
Yes. We start by understanding the current architecture, workloads, tooling and operational risks. From there, we agree on a prioritized transition instead of rebuilding everything by default.
No. dthn has experience with hyperscalers, European cloud providers and on-premise environments. The right operating model depends on your workloads, constraints and existing investments.
You keep ownership of your product and application decisions. We define a clear responsibility model for the cluster, infrastructure, deployment platform, observability and related operational tasks.
Yes. We can assess whether the cloud is appropriate, prepare the platform and support a staged migration. We will also say clearly when a simpler architecture is the better choice.
Onboarding begins with access and architecture discovery, followed by a documented risk and responsibility review. Improvements are then planned and implemented according to urgency and business impact.
No. The service is designed for small and medium-sized businesses whose production platform matters, but whose team should not have to cover every cloud specialty internally.
